- Reconnaissance sampling program through independent consulting company along the main known mineralization near Ampasibitika: Confirmation of Soviet results for REE, Ta, Nb, Zr and Sn, indications for elevated uranium and hafnium grades.
- Helicopter borne high resolution radiometric and magnetic survey (2936 line kilometers, 100 m line spacing, sensor terrain clearance 15 – 25 m, sample interval 2.5 to 50 m) by Fugro Airborne Services South Africa: Confirmation of the assumption that the mineralization might indeed be much bigger than originally anticipated.

Interpretation of airborne geophysical by renowned specialist for airborne geophysics

- Tectono-geological mapping of the area; the geological boundary between the sediments and the intrusive suite could be mapped in great detail which is of great importance for the exploration program
- Mapping of several different intrusive bodies
- Exact mapping of the anomalous zones, i.e. those zones where the occurrence of REE mineralized veins is certain or probable
- Three distinct groups of anomalous zones with respective lengths of 12 km, 4 km and 2.7 km could be detected. These anomalies are composed of individual anomalies totaling over 30 km in length.
- Indications for the occurrence of non-vein hosted, bulk mineralization in the west of the concession
Systematic geological and radiometric ground surveys and outcrop sampling
of all anomalous zones by TRE geologists
- To-date almost 300 outcrop samples have been taken; the existence of massive mineralization outside the known mineralization has been proofed
- Systematic stream sediment survey covering the southern Ampasibitika intrusion
- Evidence of possibly REE bearing ion adsorption clays over quartz syenites in the west of the concession
- Excavation and sampling of two, 2 – 3 m deep trenches, each 100 m long in the western part of the concession
- Soil geochemical survey on a 200 x 50 m grid in the west of the concession as almost no outcrops are found here
Improvement of the infrastructure and access roads
- Reconditioning of 14 km of former access roads
- To-date construction of 5 km of new access roads
- Start of the construction of three bridges which will be necessary to bring in heavy machinery in 2010
